The Japanese government had issued a new law to control the pet food

By the new law, issued by the Japanese government, it is prohibited to implement inside the country any pet food which contain substances, that may be harmful to the health of animals. Violators will be required to pay a fine of about one million dollars.

This actions of the Japanese government are explained by the fact, that more and more Japanese residents purchase themselves cats and dogs, and in the same time the numbers of animals poisoning are rapidly growing.

The authors of the new law had drawn up a list of substances whose content in the diet should be minimized or even completely excluded. All companies that manufacture animal food will be checked, as well as their storages and stocks. Statistics of 2006 says that at that time more than twenty four and a half million domestic animals were living in Japan.

Every year the animal food imported to the country is exceeding the amoutn of two hundred fourty billion yen, which makes approximately about two and a half billion of American dollars.

Well, it looks like the Japanese pets should be really grateful and very proud of the Japanese government. Unfortunately, most of our four-legged friends are not able to choose by themselves, what they are going to have for lunch or breakfast. In this case the new law is protecting life and health of our "little brothers". Because even the most careful and loving pet owners sometimes do not know if they feed their animal right or no, but from now on there will be a governmental guarantee, that all pets of Japan will be fed properly.
