In the city of Albany, Georgia, a dog named Honey Bun ate a few diamonds totaling ten thousand dollars, according to a local television station WALB-TV.

The incident occurred about two weeks ago at the jewelry store, that belongs to the owner of the dog. The owner of Honey Bun - Chuck Roberts said that the jewels had disappeared when the store was visited by a client - the owner of the jewelry center got up from his chair and stood next to the counter to greet the visitor, and the dog seized the moment. Honey Bun jumped on the chair and then climbed to the storefront, where at that time were laying the uncovered diamonds.

When Roberts returned to the counter, he saw that the stones have disappeared. According to him, he immediately suspected, that his pet has something to do with this. Soon Honey Bun was taken to a veterinary clinic to make an X-ray of his digestive system. Carbon - the main material of the diamonds -  is not shown on the radiographs, but the film still could capture two small spots that were recognized as the swallowed diamonds.

The day after the incident precious stones went out of the Honey Bun's body naturally. Thus, the diamonds came back to the owner of a jewelry store. But in the end Chuck Roberts refused from those stones and sent them back to the supplier, as the quality of processed diamonds did not suit him.

As for the Honey Bun, he was not punished by Roberts. The owner of the dog, said that the responsibility for the incident entirely rests with himself, as he left his diamonds unattended. The dog is still allowed to wander around the store and even climb on the counter.
