The representative of the Scottish Society for Animal Protection - Doreen Graham - informed all cat lovers and everyone else, who may be interested, that as a results of the recent research there was obtained the certain data, indicating that stress is actually a very common problem in the modern feline species. More than that - the additional studies have shown that the pet's illness is affecting the health of their owners too, especially if they are living alone.

British veterinarians have come to the conclusion that cats are not less prone to the stress, than many of us - people. The proof was found during the research, that confirmed the hypothesis that cystitis affects those animals that are most often under stress.

The most stressful situation for cats is a fight with their own kind. A little less level of stress our cats experience when they are forced to move to the new location. Another cause of stress is the completion of the family, no matter who was added: the child or another cat. Cystitis in cats is usually a big problem for the veterinarians, as it is very difficult to be cured, moreover, this disease may at any moment appear again.

There are two categories of cats, that suffer from cystitis more often, then the others: kittens, feeding on a dry food, and obese sedentary male cats. As a part of the treatment it is necessary to force the cat to move a lot and make sure, that the animal is getting enough water to drink. Well, the proper amount of exercises was never bad to anyone - it helps both of us - cats and people - to be happy.
