Scientists from the Georgetown University have come up with the idea to use the cybernetic models of cats for the treatment of children and those people, who have problems with mental development. Scientists noticed that this kind of toys reduce aggression and provide some sort of a sedative effect on patients.

The experiment was conducted with the participation of several Cyber-Cats called "NeCoRo", which were developed and manufactured by the Japanese company "Omron". Health care workers who participated in this project, believe that such robots can be very useful in patient care. It is assumed that in the near future robots will remind patients of the need to take their medications right on time. Strangely enough, but it turned out that only the Cyber-Cats have such a beneficial effect on the children and people with the slow mental development. The real, live animals are not the same effective so far.

Well, it is quite difficult to imagine, how exactly a real cat should remind her owner of a need to take this or another medication. But from the other side it was also scientifically prooved long time ago, that exactly the live cats are capable of healing people - especially their beloved owners. There are even some certain breeds of cats, that are known as a heart diseases healers, for example. And absolutely any cat is able to relieve stress and even help to recover after the most severe diseases - it is enought to spend some certain time with the purring cat on your knees.
